Learn the FUN-damentals of Figure
Skating!
So you want to learn how to skate? You've come to the
right place.
U.S. Figure Skating has given us, the Puerto Rican Figure
Skating Federation their learn-to- skate program for our
organization to adopt as our own, of which we have begun
working with the Carolina and Aguadilla Ice Rink leadership to implement.
We are presently modifying the program to serve and meet
the needs of the local community in Aguadilla,P.R. and Carolina P.R. The
PRFSF Basic Skills program will help you learn all the
fundamentals of figure skating - it's simply the best
way to take to the ice. The Basic Skills program designed
by U.S. Figure Skating is the best beginning ice skating
program that is fun, challenging and rewarding. With the
permission to utilize this program and once modified as
our own, the PRFSF can insure that the young kids in Puerto
Rico have from inception the best in figure skating instruction.
The curriculum is designed to keep skaters enthusiastic
about learning from the time they begin lessons until
the time they reach their goals. Whether your goal is
to achieve Olympic fame or simply enjoy the recreational
benefits of skating, Basic Skills is for you! The entire
Basic Skills program has special classes for many facets
of skating including free skate, pairs, synchronized skating,
choreography (Artistry in Motion) and hockey. Currently
there are more than 800 programs and 100,000 skaters registered
across the United States in the U.S. Figure Skating Basic
Skills Program. It is very exciting to offer a program
of our own and make it available for the people of Puerto Rico. young and old. We hope that participation in this
wonderful sport of Ice Skating will be exciting and joyful
experience.
The objectives of the program
are:
- To provide
a fun and safe skating experience for the beginner
as well as the more advanced skater
- To teach
correct technique of the basic elements of skating
- To develop
a finer degree of coordination and balance
- To promote physical fitness
- To have fun!

In
order to join the PRFSF USFSA Basic Skills Program, you
need to register at the Carolina Club and Aguadilla Ice Skating Rink. Costs
will vary from program to program. This is a great opportunity
to be on your way to enjoying one of the greatest sports
